Gay parley set; CWRU objects
A homosexual conference will be held here next month despite Case Western Reserve University's objection, Ann Weld-Harrington,
cochairman Gay Activist Alliance, said yesterday.

As many as 300 students from 10 universities will take part in the All Ohio Gay Pride Conference, "primarily off campus, but
in the vicinity of University Circle," she said.
"They all know the university does not want them and that there could be a
confrontation."
Mrs. Weld-Harrington in January was refused space for the conference by Carolyn Neff, secretary of the university.
A similar conference on the campus in February,
attracted 250, according to Mrs. Weld-Harrington. She said she had reserved the
space without specifying the
occasion.
"There was no admonishment-nobody even not-
iced," she said.
When they hear the word conference, they freak out. But I think the university is in the position that if they don't know it's going on, it's OK.
